Paying for your case

There are a number of ways in which the cost of pursuing your case may be met:

• Private payment of our fees
• Funding from insurers
• Legal Aid Funding
• Funding under conditional fee arrangements

If you are paying privately we will provide you with an estimate of costs at the outset along with an indication of our hourly rate. Our rates are competitive and compare favourably with many larger practices.

You may be entitled to pursue a case under a legal expenses policy. A substantial number of home contents and other insurance policies carry legal expenses insurance and we can help you to establish whether you have cover.

So far as legal aid funding is concerned the firm’s specialist expertise is recognised by the Legal Services Commission under its legal aid franchise in the field of family law. In every case referred to the family department early consideration is given to the availability of legal aid and in all cases where eligibility is established appropriate public funding will be secured.

We recognise that clients are concerned about the high cost of instructing solicitors and we report regularly to our clients in respect of their cost liability and any changes to our estimate of the costs of their case.
